The BROWN DERBY restaurant
in Los Angeles , CA   1940's

My father was in LA  and LOOK what he got !

The item is a menu dated NOV. 11, 1943
from the HOLLYWOOD BROWN DERBY VINE STREET restaurant.

During WWII,  Dad was in the navy,
on leave, and he and a shipmate went to the Derby for lunch.

After seeing dad ask for one autograph?
The other stars who were eating lunch that day
came up to dad and said:
'HEY SAILOR BOY -  Let me sign your menu too!'

and..... as you can see

BUD  ABBOTT   and   BOB  CROSBY
were 2 who signed the menu.
(sadly, the one signed by Mel Blanc (bugs bunny)
was in red ink and has faded.
Also signed by Rod Cameron, Billy Gray, and many more

Please take time to click on the THUMBNAILS of each picture

Because of my children's 'lack of interest in the menu',
I recently sold it to someone who REALLY REALLY wanted it.
I disliked the idea of it being 'trashed' one of these days.
Thank you R. Christian Anderson for this picture and the information!
